I have come this far.
And I will remember you.
Glassy eyed and trembling I recall the archives of our history. You
told me once when I was half asleep that you had a dream
about a dream folding in upon itself. I see you and I know that dream
wasn't real, but a story to get me thinking like you always did.
And I will remember you.
These demons I begat of uncertain breath no longer haunt me. I have
eaten them. They are with me all the time.
I step with vengeance and compassion behind me onto this meridian thin
as angels' hair, frictous as hell, slick with the blood of imbalance.
It's all Djinn and Tonic.
And I will remember you.
27 bottles later. How many are enough to bring this kingdom together
in sanity? Three libras by nine commandments by every act of redemption
yet; the two of you have become so jaded and so human. I hardly know
which is which or who is who sometimes. Like Father, Like Son. But we
remain the bitches of your unquiet and rhetorical universe.
And I will remember
you.
I have come this
far.
